Hero Award Winner - December 2006
Sound Ergonomics, LLC

The Seattle Chapter of SCORE awarded its December, 2006 Hero Award to Kenmore based Sound Ergonomics. A woman owned business, founded in 2000, their company brings together leading experts uniquely qualified to provide solutions that will reduce the risks for occupational injury among health sciences professionals. Its principal members Susan L. Murphey, Joan P. Baker and Carolyn T. Coffin have been leaders in the ultrasound profession and instrumental in addressing ergonomics concerns among diagnostic imaging professionals. This has been demonstrated in their testimony to OSHA occupational ergonomics panel representatives in April 2000, written testimony to submitted to Labor Secretary hearings in 2001, amd their involvement in the development of the Industry Standards for the Prevention of Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders in Sonography.
Sound Ergonomics, LLC is dedicated to increasing awareness of the risks associated with insufficient work environments and educating allied health professionals in ways to reduce risks.
